State and Carmel police confirmed that a DNA sample collected from human remains does not match the profile of a Putnam County teen who went missing nearly 30 years ago.
The remains were found during excavation work at the property of a new home built in the Town of Patterson.
Investigators confirmed the remains are that of a white female between the ages of 16 and 28 with extensive dental work.
It is believed the victim has been dead for more than 10 years.
Investigators say it is still too early to determine who this person is.
