Statewide '$25 on the 25th' campaign set to kick off
New York's "$25 on the 25th" promotional event kicks off tomorrow in an effort to boost local stores struggling in the tough economy.
The campaign encourages people throughout the state to spend $25 in local shops tomorrow, Sept. 25.
Store owners such as Denise Cohen say they are hoping to stay afloat with the help of their customers. Her gift and toy shop in Nyack has been open for nearly 24 years and she says she hopes she can remain in business.
"There's a lot of long businesses like ourselves that at times teeter, but we'll get through it," she said. "We feel really confident and we know we'll ride this out."
