Stolen baby Jesus statue returned in Hastings
A baby Jesus statue stolen from a nativity scene in Hastings last week has been recovered.The statue was stolen last Thursday from a nativity scene outside the VFW Post on Warburton Avenue. The scene was sponsored by St. Matthew's Church.A police officer noticed that the statue was replaced Christmas morning.Parishioners at the church were thrilled by the Christmas surprise. Some said that it was horrible that someone would have stolen the statue, but they are glad whoever it was had a conscience and put it back where it belongs. It's still not known who stole the baby Jesus statue.
