A winter storm watch is in effect for Rockland and northern Westchester County.
News 12 Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Matt Hammer says the approaching coastal storm system will be bring rain, a wintry mix and snow to Westchester and the Hudson Valley.
Areas to the north could see more than a foot of snow.
WHAT'S NEXT: A dry and milder temp trend will build in for the second half of next week, making St. Patrick’s Day very delightful.
OVERNIGHT: Increasing clouds with a chance for showers by the AM commute.
MONDAY - STORM WATCH (PM) : Scattered rain and snow showers to start and then increasing through the day with the rates of precipitation increasing.
TUESDAY- STORM WATCH(PM) : Some mix closer to the city but light to moderate snow elsewhere and windy conditions.
WEDNESDAY: Sun and clouds with a chilly wind. 
THURSDAY:  Mostly sunny & with a pleasant breeze.
FRIDAY - ST. PATRICK’S DAY: Sun and clouds with mild temps.
