Pataki's doctors say governor shows signs of improvement
Physicians for Governor George Pataki say he continues to show signs of improvement after undergoing surgery at a Manhattan hospital.
The 60-year-old governor is still at New York Presbyterian Columbia Medical Center after a second surgery. Pataki had his appendix removed at Hudson Valley Hospital Center and was then transferred to Manhattan. There he had an operation to remove adhesions to his intestinal tract, a rare complication that resulted from the appendectomy. Pataki?s doctors say although the governor suffered from infection and a slight fever after the second surgery, they say it is in the range of what they expected.
The governor has been able to conduct business while hospitalized. Doctors say they will not release him until he returns to full normal digestive function.
