Harriman security guard arrested for impersonating police officer

Posted: Updated:

A security guard at a Harriman distribution company was arrested for impersonating a police officer.

Police say 21-year-old Joseph O'Rourke, of Cornwall, had been pretending to be a Harriman police officer for weeks. They say he would harass truck drivers coming to the Manhattan Beer Distributors and threaten to give out speeding tickets. After police received complaints, an officer went there Monday and was approached by O?Rourke who identified himself as a police officer.

O?Rourke is charged with criminal impersonation of a police officer.
