Destructive weather pounds Rockland County

High winds and heavy rains pounded Rockland, leaving a path of destruction across the county.
An 80-foot pine tree came crashing down in Nyack and took out about five utility poles and four transformers. One pole landed on a SUV, igniting the transformer. The driver got out of his car to safety before the vehicle became fully engulfed in flames.
Hundreds of trees came down, including one that landed on a house in Montebello. Orange and Rockland counties are reporting 12,000 homes without power. Crews are spread out throughout the county trying to clean up the mess and restore power.
