? Rockland mother Gail Ahearn is complaining about security guards at the Palisades Center in West Nyack. Ahearn says they did nothing to stop a man from harassing her young son.

Ahearn says the stranger approached her 8-year-old and told him he was very special and so is his father. Ahearn says she left the area, but the man followed them. The mother says a security guard told her to go upstairs to the security office for help. Ahearn says she demanded that mall guards call the police when they told her to hold on.

Clarkston Detective Gerry King says officers who arrived did not arrest the man because he did not commit a crime.

Ahearn says she no longer trusts that security guards in public places can protect her.
