Rockland County executive sworn into fourth term

Rockland County Executive Scott Vanderhoef took his oath of office for a fourth time Tuesday.
Vanderhoef chose to hold the ceremony at the Blauvelt Fire House. He says he wanted to honor all the volunteer firefighters in Rockland County, including his father, and wanted to pay tribute to his hometown. Vanderhoef thanked his family and friends and everyone who's helped him in his first 12 years in office. He says a lot of people deserve credit for things like a 40 percent reduction in crime during that time. Vanderhoef says over the next four years he plans to tackle issues such as transportation, the Tappan Zee Bridge, an increasing cost of living and a growing senior population. Two new Rockland County legislators will be sworn in Thursday. Click here to see some of Vanderhoef?s speech.
