Rockland residents prepare for first menorah parade

Posted: Updated:

As Jewish people across the Hudson Valley celebrate the first day of Hanukkah, residents in Rockland are preparing for their first menorah parade.

The first annual Rockland County Meonrah Parade will include 55 cars with fluorescent menorahs on top. Residents say the purpose of the parade is to share the spirit of Hanukkah and unite all Jews for the coming of the Messiah.

The parade will be held Tuesday. It begins at Route 306 and Langeries Drive in Monsey and ends with a menorah lighting at the Closter City Hall in New Jersey.
