Middletown police are on the hunt for a carjacker in their area.

A female postal worker became the first victim of a carjacking in Middletown Saturday morning. Police say the 39-year-old woman was greeted by her attacker as she attempted to get out of her car. The man pushed her back in her vehicle and held her at knifepoint. He then robbed her and insisted they drive to an ATM so he could empty her bank account. When the carjacker stopped at a red light, the victim was able to escape.Postmaster Joe Singh has brought in counselors for his employees who are still extremely shaken up by the incident. He?s also beefed up security, installing additional lights in the parking lot and moving employee parking spaces closer to the loading dock and entrance. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Middletown police at 343-3151.
