Friends and family honor late Rockland County clerk

Family and friends gathered Tuesday for a special ceremony to honor the late Rockland County clerk.
Ed Gorman served as clerk for 16 years before he died of a heart attack in October. The 75-year-old was seeking his fifth term at the time of his death. Everyone who attended the service said his legacy was his interaction with people. One person said Gorman was an institution himself.
During his time as clerk, Gorman extended office hours and Internet services to better serve the people of Rockland County. He was remembered as a public servant with a great sense of humor and a positive attitude.
