Students and teachers at Ramapo High School are coping with the sudden loss of a beloved graduate Monday.
Eighteen-year-old Babak Najafi, of Pomona, had just graduated from Ramapo High School last spring and had almost completed his first semester at Syracuse University. Najafi was found dead in his dorm room Sunday afternoon. News of the former student council president?s death spread quickly to students and teachers, so the school brought in psychologists to help people with their grief.
An autopsy determined Najafi died of a heart attack. Najafi had several blocked arteries and was showing signs of heart disease. A memorial service was held on the Syracuse University campus Monday.
