Forensic experts testify in trial of Orange County man accused of murdering daughter
The prosecution rested in the trial of an Orange County man accused of murdering his daughter after forensic experts took the stand Wednesday.
Christopher Rhodes, 28, is accused of stabbing 7-year-old Jerica Rhodes to death. Rhodes had custody of Jerica but is not her biological father. The prosecution says Rhodes stabbed Jerica 16 times and then stuffed her body in the bathroom of the Sacred Heart of Jesus School in Highland Falls. The prosecution has used DNA gathered at the crime scene and at Rhodes? home to prove its case.
Meanwhile, the defense has stuck to their opening statements saying there was a botched investigation that pointed only to Rhodes as the murderer. The defense says it has not yet decided if Rhodes will take the stand in the trial.
