John Burke wins race for town supervisor in Woodbury
In a surprising outcome, Republican Incumbent Sheila Conroy was defeated in the race for Woodbury town supervisor by her Democratic challenger John Burke.Woodbury?s newest town supervisor has done what some considered impossible, beating an incumbent who had held the position for two terms. Burke feels voters knew what they wanted and he was the person who would deliver. ?I?m excited and I?m looking forward to it,? says Burke. He does, however, state that taking over an office that has seen the same administration for so long will not be easy. Burke has stated he wants residents to know that his main goal is to make the community more affordable for its residents. Related Link:Hudson Valley Vote 2005
