Entergy pinpoints source of radioactive leak at Indian Point
Indian Point Nuclear Power Plant owner, Entergy, has pinpointed the source of a small ongoing radioactive leak.
Since August, low levels of tritiumwere discovered in water at the bottom of several test wells around the nuclear reactors. With the help of a remote-controlled underwater camera, Entergy found what could be rust spots in the steel lining for the spent fuel pool at Indian Point 2.
The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has been closely watching the situation at Indian Point and says it is satisfied with Entergy's progress. Meanwhile, a diver will be sent into the pool to confirm the problem area.
