Orange County demands for critical review of shooting rampage
The Orange County executive is calling for a critical review of a shooting rampage in New Winsdor where a man on probation shot three people before killing himself.
Victor Piazza went to his former workplace Verla International Monday and shot his two former bosses and the office manager. All suffered gunshot wounds to the head. Piazza was on probation for an offense last year in which he was found to have child pornography on his work computer.
The New Windsor police chief says the shootings may have been prompted by a probation officer's visit to Piazza Friday. Piazza was found in possession of pornography and alcohol at that time, which was in violation of his probation.
In the county executive?s review, all policies and procedures regarding agency responses and actions when individuals are found to have violated the conditions of their probation will be analyzed.
