Deer Park flood victims finally getting help from FEMAPosted: Updated:
Deer Park flood victims are finally getting the help they need from FEMA after waiting patiently for months. In a town of 9,000 residents, 280 homes were lost after a flood hit in April. The flood left much of the town under water. Town Supervisor Mark House was disappointed with the lack of response and communication he received from FEMA. There was no coordination at all between federal, state and local levels. House now claims that ever since Michael Brown stepped down last month as the head of the agency, there has been a complete turnaround in response from FEMA. House stated that in the 48 hours following Brown?s resignation, FEMA has given Deer Park many avenues of help whereas just a couple of weeks ago they didn?t want discuss the towns problems.
