An Orange County couple is lucky to be alive after a fire ripped through their home in Bloomingburg Wednesday.
Approximately 70 firefighters from different departments responded to the blaze on Howells Turnpike that occurred while the homeowners were in the house. Fire officials say the blaze was so intense they knew there was no possible way to save the ranch. They tried to contain the flames and prevent a possible brush fire.
Officials believe the fire may be suspicious because of the extensive damage to the home. However, the exact cause of the blaze is under investigation.
