Dry weather fuels brush fire in Harriman State Park
Dry weather in Hudson Valley has continued to fuel a brush fire that has caused more than 30 acres of land to burn in the Pine Meadow Lake area of Harriman State Park.
Park rangers have been taking turns to contain the fire and to keep it from spreading. Officials say forecasts call for rain later in the week, but they say if the county does not receive a significant amount of rainfall then the wood land will dry up and cause more fires.
Officials say the fires began in early August but continued on throughout this past weekend.
