Rockland firefighters work to help comrades in hurricane-stricken south

Volunteer firefighters in Rockland County are working to help their comrades in Louisiana and Mississippi start over after the devastating hurricane.
Members of the Rockland County Volunteer Fireman?s Association plan on staging a fundraiser to help fellow firefighters down south affected by Katrina. They want to raise between $50,000 - $100,000 in relief money to rebuild firehouses and buy new equipment and fire trucks.
The firefighters will be in front of the Nanuet Mall and the Palisades Center Mall on September 11 to accept donations.
