West Point to make changes to protect female cadetsPosted: Updated:
Some changes are in store for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in order to protect female cadets from sexual harassment.
A defense task force report was just released that showed general attitudes towards women at the academy are still hostile. Some suggested changes are adding assault response coordinators at every major base and the promise of anonymity if assault is reported. The information showed that many female victims of sexual assault at West Point feared repercussions if the incident was reported.
As personnel review the report, they say they'll work to put any recommendations in place as quickly as possible.
