Man who orchestrated failed robbery in Bardonia pleads guilty

A man who orchestrated a failed robbery in Bardonia six months ago pleaded guilty in Rockland County Court Monday to first-degree attempted robbery.

Jonathan Murray, 36, of Connecticut pleaded guilty to the attempted robbery of Barry?s Estate Jewelers on Route 304. Three other people are also accused of the attempted jewelry store robbery. The owner of the store, Barry Fixler, says when his life was threatened he reacted by shooting and paralyzing one of the perpetrators. Fixler says since the incident he is more alert while working.

Murray faces six years in state prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on November 1. The prosecution of the other three suspects on robbery charges is continuing.
