Strong storms cause major damage across Hudson Valley
The strong storms that blasted through Hudson Valley Wednesday night left major damage in their wake.
Trees snapped from the strong winds. In some neighborhoods tree branches brought down telephone and cable wires.
Orange and Rockland Utilities say the areas hardest hit were New City and Pomona, leaving more than 4,000 customers without power. While crews are working hard to restore power, some customers may be in the dark until Saturday.
United Water customers in Rockland are being asked to refrain from using water for the next two days. The company says their storage tanks are at dangerously low levels after the blackout kept workers from filling them up.
