Heavy rains slow morning commute

Heavy rains are slowing the morning commute across the Hudson Valley today.
News 12 Meteorologist Brysen Van Eck says that nearly an inch of rain is expected to fall this morning creating ponding on many area roadways. Van Eck says it usually takes between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain to create serious flooding problems.
Van Eck expects moderate to heavy showers to last until noon and then skies will start clearing. There may be a scattered shower throughout the afternoon, but the sun should start to emerge.
The temperature will be 73 degrees and into the low 80s for the next few days.
