New Rochelle, Mount Vernon slated to have red light cameras installed at intersections

Red light cameras could soon be coming to several intersections in both New Rochelle and Mount Vernon.
Both cities got approval from the state Legislature to install the cameras, which are meant to cut down on red light runners. Gov. Andrew Cuomo must first sign the bills, and then vendors need to be hired before drivers actually start getting tickets.
News 12 has learned that the cameras could be up and running in the next couple of months. The two cities would join Yonkers in becoming the only communities in the Lower Hudson Valley to have the cameras.
