Two candidates for governor faced off Thursday in a radio debate.
Republican candidate Rob Astorino faced off against Zephyr Teachout, one of the Democratic candidates, on WNYC radio. Gov. Andrew Cuomo has repeatedly refused to debate his primary challenger.
Astorino and Teachout disagreed on most issues, including economic development and education, during the hourlong debate. Both did agree in their attacks on Cuomo and his refusal to commit to debates.
"Andrew Cuomo has an obligation to the public, not just to himself," says Teachout. "It's really self-serving to avoid a debate."
Voters will head to the polls next week to vote for Cuomo or Teachout in the Democratic primary.
