NYPD officer accused in Pelham shooting to face trial

Posted: Updated:

An NYPD officer accused of opening fire at two men in a car in Pelham will face trial.

Officer Brendan Cronin was off duty when he allegedly fired 14 shots at a car stopped at a red light back in April. The passenger was hit six times, while the driver escaped unharmed.

Cronin was in court Thursday, where his attorney pushed to have his indictment dismissed. The judge disagreed and said the case will go to trial.

Cronin is facing two charges of attempted murder. He is due back in court on Oct. 30.
