Rockland County hospitals take Ebola precautionsPosted: Updated:
Measures are being taken in Rockland County to prevent the spread of Ebola.
While it is thought that the chances of someone contracting Ebola locally are low, the New York State Health Department is ordering all hospitals to be prepared just in case. The head of the emergency department at Nyack Hospital says they are ready in the event that an Ebola case appears in the region.
Dr. Sachin Shah says their plan is robust, though it changes from week to week as new guidelines come out.
Though residents say they are concerned about the Ebola case just a short distance away in New York City, Dr. Shah says those at greatest risk are health care professionals.
