Structural problems plague Newburgh police building

The Newburgh Police Department headquarters has been evacuated after structural problems were discovered in the building.
Detective Mike Pitt, the PBA President, already showed News 12 other problems plaguing the building. The department's locker rooms are closed because of mold problems and Pitt captured cellphone video of toilet water leaking through a ceiling onto officers' heads.
Structural damage to a corroded support beam in the ceiling was found this week. The main firehouse, which shares a building with the police, has also been evacuated.
City officials say they will make temporary repairs until a new building is built. They are considering temporary trailers for the police department while repairs are made.
