A December nor'easter is bringing heavy rain and gusty winds to the area today.
News 12 Meteorologist Joe Rao says that with temperatures across the area well above freezing, the region is getting all rain this afternoon.
Rao says that heaviest rain is upon us and that it should begin tapering off sometime after 5 p.m.
Rao does caution that a coastal flood watch is effect into this evening.
A wind advisory is in also effect for southern Westchester County until 5 p.m., with wind gusts up to 50 mph.
