Police stop, search trucks in annual campaign

Posted: Updated:

Counterterrorism teams hit Hudson Valley roads as part of an annual "see something, say something" holiday campaign.

State police started inspecting the cargo of commercial trucks along I-84 in Wallkill.

Nearby in Woodbury, police were stationed along Route 32 as part of the campaign.

The checks are part of a counterterrorism effort that is mobilizing dozens of departments, including the state Department of Transportation.

Woodbury police also handed out fliers to shoppers, asking them to keep an eye out for suspicious activity this holiday season.
