Soldier returns from Afghanistan and surprises sisters

Posted: Updated:

A soldier returning from Afghanistan surprised his younger sisters at a Stony Point school Monday.

While 11-year-old Gianna Didonato was busy at work at Farley Elementary School, her brother Edward Didonato, a specialist in the Army, was waiting outside for her.

Gianna and her sister Emma hadn't seen their brother in two years.

The surprise was a collaborative effort involving Didonato's stepmom, teachers and superintendent.

Gianna and Emma say they hope to celebrate with a party for their older brother.
