Cops: Alleged drunken driver crashes through Stony Point home
Police say an alleged drunken driver barreled through the front of a Stony Point home last night while the family was inside watching television.
According to authorities, 63-year-old Jeffrey Shuler was driving a Chevy SUV near his home on Oak Court when he slammed into a neighbor's house, landing on top of 48-year-old retired police officer Timothy Carey and his two young sons.
Officials say Carey was rushed to Nyack Hospital with serious head and facial injuries. The two children were not hurt. Shuler was also treated at Good Samaritan Hospital for minor injuries and released.
Police say Shuler, who works as a school bus driver, has been charged with DWI and is expected to go before a judge next month.
