Suffern H.S. football player injured after quarry fall

Posted: Updated:

A Suffern High School football star remains hospitalized after plunging from a 70-foot cliff at a local quarry. Police say Kenny Blair, 18, fell into the shallow waters of the Tilcon Quarry on Monday. They are investigating whether Blair intentionally jumped to commit suicide, or if he accidentally slipped. Blair was rescued by boat, broke both his legs and suffered a lung injury. Police say he is in critical condition at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla with serious injuries to his head, neck and back. Friends of Blair's, who say they call him "Panda Bear," said they are wishing for a speedy recovery and will show him the same support he's always given the community. "Just an incredible young man," a friend said. "Always there, no matter what the need." Police say they are unsure how Blair reached the top of the cliff unnoticed since the quarry is both gated and patrolled by police.
