Mayor: Don't bring the noise in Nyack

The Village of Nyack will begin using a decibel meter to measure noise levels downtown after several businesses started complaining about their noisy neighbors and area bars.

"We are asking businesses to be good neighbors to each other. If you are going to have loud music, close your windows and respect each other," says Nyack Mayor Richard Kavesh.

Village officials say businesses are cooperating with their efforts to keep the noise down and that so far, reaction from owners has been positive.
