Posted: Updated:

Construction workers are among those stuck outside in the sweltering sun with little relief. Employees inside a Puerto Rican food cart in Newburgh say that even though they're inside, the temperatures are even hotter because of the kitchen.

Residents who are able to alter their day say they're staying indoors and visiting places with air conditioning.
