Ramapo Police Dept.'s phone, email outages fixed

The Ramapo Police Department says electrical problems that knocked out its phone and email systems last night have been repaired.
Officials say that officers were being dispatched through the radio system, but were still able to communicate with residents.
Ramapo Police Capt. Brad Weidel says the glitch began at around 10:30 p.m. He says the lights and air conditioning stayed on, but not much else.
Officials say 911 calls had to be transferred to the county system, which was jointly manned by Ramapo and sheriff's dispatchers.
Ramapo police say all emergency calls were handled as electricians worked to find the problem.
Officers will continue to be dispatched through county communications until they are confident all of the problems have been addressed.
