Local heroes honored in Piermont

A special ceremony in Piermont was held yesterday to honor a group of hero volunteers who helped save a local man's life.
Clark Holmes, 67, had a heart attack just moments after getting off his fishing boat at the Cracker Box Marina on June 15.
The life-long Piermont man and grandfather, affectionately known locally as "Clarkie," says he's alive today because of some quick-acting first responders.
Piermont firefighters, police and EMTs arrived and administered life-saving CPR.
The group received plaques from the town in recognition of their heroic efforts.
Clark says he's expected to make a full recovery and hopes to be well enough to get back out fishing before the end of the season.
