Ex-girlfriend charged in murder of Pomona man
Police say the ex-girlfriend of a Pomona man is accused in his death.
Jodi Ann Hemmings, 23, was arrested this morning in Manhattan and is facing murder charges in the death of Jason Ognenoff. Hemmings is also accused of lighting two candles and setting fire to the partially disabled victim's apartment to cover up the murder.
Prosecutors say Hemmings admitted to hitting Ognenoff over the head and then stabbing him multiple times with a steak knife in his torso. She pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Ognenoff suffered from a nerve and muscle disorder in his arm, and family members believe he never could have fought back.
Hemmings is at the Rockland County Jail without bail. The judge admonished her not to speak to anyone about her case.
