The Clarkstown Central School District is on a safety hold while police search for a shooting suspect.

According to police, around 5:50 a.m. a man was shot outside a condo complex on Sierra Vista Lane. Police say the suspect ran off into nearby woods.

Police say they are looking for a person of interest, Eric Goods, who is a neighbor of the victim.

The victim was taken to Nyack Hospital for serious, but not life threatening injuries.

School officials say the safety hold is due to the fact that there are students at Clarkstown North H.S., Clarkstown South H.S. and Felix Festa M.S. for sports practices and there is also faculty at the building.
