The Montebello Road Bridge was shut down yesterday after transportation crews found structural damage caused by Irene. Rockland County Department of Transportation officials say drivers north of the bridge will be detoured to Route 202, and drivers to the south will be detoured to Hemion Road. The extent of the damage is not yet known, and officials have not said when the bridge will be repaired or reopened.
