Suffern braces for more flooding
Residents in Suffern are concerned a new round of flooding will hit the region because of rainstorms expected to hit tonight.
Ann Marie Teraci says her home's basement was destroyed during Hurricane Irene. She's spent thousands of dollars repairing the damage and purchasing new appliances.
But, she fears all of that hard work could be washed away again. The overnight weather forecast calls for several inches of rain.
"The water could come back in because my foundation is damaged and the work I've done cleaning up and trying to repair could be a waste of money," she says.
The Suffern community had to be evacuated during Hurricane Irene when raging floodwaters from the Mahwah River completely invaded streets.
