Woman arraigned in Pomona murder-arson case

Posted: Updated:

The woman accused in the killing of a Pomona man last month was arraigned in a New City courtroom today.

Jodi Ann Hemmings, 23, of New York City, is accused of killing 37-year-old Jason Ognenoff and then setting his apartment on fire to try and cover up the murder.

Hemmings pleaded not guilty to the crimes.

Ognenoff's family says it never heard of the woman before and police have not released a motive for the crime. Cops say they believe the pair had been briefly dating.

Hemmings was ordered held in the Rockland County Jail without bail.
