Police in Hillburn have confirmed a fatal accident on the New York State Thruway.
Fire officials say the accident occurred on the northbound side by exit 15 in Hillburn just after 12:15 p.m.
They say a car went underneath the back of the tractor-trailer loaded with tires and caught fire.
The driver of the car, an unidentified woman, was trapped and pinned below the truck. She died on the scene.
