Annual arts festival wraps up in Sugar Loaf
Thousands of people attended the 39th Annual Sugar Loaf Arts Festival over the weekend, which was welcoming news to organizers, who were concerned that damage from Hurricane Irene would keep people away.
Kings Highway, which leads into Sugar Loaf, had been shut down for weeks after a sinkhole was caused by the storm. Fortunately, crews were able to repair it in time for the festival, so attendees could visit the showcase for arts, crafts, food and music. "The atmosphere is nice and calming and relaxing, up in the mountains and it's a beautiful place to be," said vendor Tammy Donzella.
The festival wraps up today.
