Officials tour flood-ravaged areas of Orange County

Local officials and members of the Army Corps of Engineers toured flood-prone areas of Orange County today and met with home and business owners who say they've suffered water damage.Some farmers in the Black Dirt region say their fields were completely flooded after Tropical Storm Irene sent the Wallkill River spilling over its banks. One farmer says he lost about 80 percent of his crops.The officials toured the Wallkill and Ramapo rivers and discussed drainage issues. Army engineers say they require more funding and a key partnership with the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to be able to do an in-depth study on the region. Rep.
