Rockland nonprofits make plea for funding

Several agencies that are on the chopping block because of proposed Rockland County budget cuts showed up for a budget hearing today in an effort to save their funding.
Zenya Cleveland says Headstart of Rockland stands to lose $40,000 in county aid under County Executive Scott Vanderhoef's (R-Rockland) proposed 2012 budget.
"If you spend $1 now on a child, early childhood education, there's studies that have been shown that it saves $7 down the road," Cleveland says.
The budget must be in place by Dec. 7.
