Police say an arrest was made today in the shooting of a 19-year-old woman in Wallkill.

Authorities went into Monticello in Sullivan County to make the arrest, but have not released any details about the suspect's identity.

According to police, the victim was sitting in a car in the parking lot of the Howard Johnson's on Route 211 East on Saturday night when a man approached her car with a handgun and opened fire, shooting her in the eye.

The victim remains hospitalized in serious condition.
