Falco selected as next Rockland County sheriff

Posted: Updated:

Current Rockland County Police Chief Louis Falco will become the next Rockland County sheriff.

The position opened up after current Sheriff James Kralick announced he would not run for re-election.

Flaco, the Democrat, had faced off against retired Detective Sgt. Tim O'Neil, of Clarkstown, the Independent candidate, and retired NYPD Police Sgt. Matt Brennan, of New City, the Republican nominee.

Falco had been part of the Rockland County police for more than 30 years.
